There are absolutely no constants in my life at the moment. Nearing the end of my senior year of high school and living in a pandemic creates the perfect combination for chaos. So many things I've planned on have been canceled and there are still events to look forward to as well. Prom, graduation, finals, ACTs, work, fundraising, it's never-ending.  It's all so exciting but there is no consistency these days and I'm definitely at fault for getting caught in the motions and dwell in my lack of consistency.

While in a state of "whoa is me" I realized there are so many little beautiful things around me that I let go unnoticed. So, I made a list of things to love about life. Once I got rolling, it was hard to stop. There's so much beauty in the mundane, so many little things that make me stop and smile, take a deep breath and know it is well and okay.

The real list is well over 100 items but I want to share my top 15.

1. People with really big laughs
2. The feeling of wanting to tell someone you love them
3. The way it smells after it rains
4. Babies in snowsuits
5. The way the snow reflects the moon at night
6. Pictures of your parents as teenagers 
7. Dancing in the rain
8. Finding new music
9. When you meet someone and you automatically click
10. Feeling someone's heartbeat
11. Holding hands and rubbing your thumb against their hand
12. vinyl records
13. finally loving yourself for who you are
14. handwritten notes 
15. wildflowers

there's so much ugly in the world. but we also have so little time here on earth. I'm learning to love the mundane, love the ordinary, and love the everyday things. and when life gets to be so overwhelming, I find it especially comforting to think of my favorite little things people do or the beauty in the small things around me and it makes it better. :)
